As educators,our experience is providing knowledge. As practitioners, we help consumers gain valuable skills needed to practice good healthcare awareness.
We do it with can-do encouragement for consumers and healthcare workers: yes, we can work together to reduce healthcare-associated infections, improve healthcare service quality, and ensure a safe healthcare experience!
Dr. McGuckin's collaboration in the areas of research and professional development have culminated in directing recent studies in consumer infection reporting, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Public Health Law Research program, and as one of the lead authors for the World Health Organization's (WHO) Guidelines on Hand Hygiene in Health Care, part of the Global Patient Safety Challenge.
